Hernandez Family Farms Natural Disaster Recovery
Donation protected
We are raising funds to help a beloved local family-run farm, Hernandez Farms, recover from the recent loss of their newly built greenhouse tunnels. Despite being properly built, severe winds completely destroyed the tunnels, and snow and ice storms further delayed recovery, clean-up, and salvaging any remaining plants and reusable materials. As a start-up farm business, the Hernandez Family invested in the new tunnels to be their winter income stream by growing organic vegetables and seed starts in the greenhouse tunnels. The Hernandez family are dedicated farmers who show up at the Main Street Farmers Market in downtown Chattanooga, TN each week to bring their community delicious and nourishing local produce. They supply families and local businesses with the freshest ingredients.
When it comes to farming, no matter how much they prepare, farms are at the biggest disadvantage to natural disasters. Our community needs caring and dedicated farmers like the Hernandez Family Farms and right now the Hernandez family needs Chattanooga and the Tennessee communities to help them get through the winter! To start, we are asking for $5,000 to help them recover from damages, but due to the loss of expected income through the winter, they need all the help they can get to make it through this difficult season. Please support Hernandez Farms however you can. Even if you can't donate, sharing their GoFundMe link helps tremendously!
If you would like to donate to them directly, you can give them cash at the Main Street Farmers MarketWednesdays from 4pm-5:30pm EST or send them a message through Instagram Facebook
