Your donations will go a long way towards enabling frontline healthcare workers to protect themselves and save lives as they bravely fight Covid 19 in our healthcare settings.
Heroes-Aid is a newly established non-profit organisation set up to raise funds to provide practical supports, such as essential PPE (Protective Personal Equipment) and other resources to keep our healthcare Heroes safe as they care for us. The Fund also intends to provide longer-term Psychological, Educational and practical support for frontline Healthcare workers, their children, and families who have been negatively impacted by Covid 19.
Our Heroes include Nurses, Doctors, Paramedics, the wider Healthcare Team, together with the Catering, Maintenance and Cleaning staff, who work tirelessly every day and risk their lives’ so that others can live.
Let’s give them the Support and Protection they Need and Deserve.
Heroes Aid is the brainchild of Mary Leahy, Public Health Nurse & National Coordinator for Nurse/Midwife Safety, Amanda Wilkinson of RCSI and has been co-ordinated with the help of Doug Leddin, who has come together with Andy Kavanagh of Irish Band Keywest, to record and release a music video with frontline workers at its heart, to raise awareness around how brave our everyday members of society are.
The music video, aptly titled ‘Ordinary Superhero’ is the creation of Andy Kavanagh of Keywest and Mr Doug Leddin and features medical professionals Dr Matthew O’Toole, Nurse Emma Coughlan, Paramedic Steven Mangan and his daughter Saoirse.
This Organisation was established with the generous assistance of a wider Team reflective of the public's desire to support and help our Healthcare Heroes now and into the future. We deeply appreciate their time, energy and generosity.
The Team wants to show these brave people that they are greatly appreciated. Everyday they risk their lives going to work in an effort to save the lives of our Families, Friends and Neighbours.
We feel this beautiful and emotive song ‘Ordinary Superhero’ tells the story of the tenuous line between fear and bravery faced everyday. And we’d like to thank all the members of Irish Band Keywest for helping us launch Heroes-Aid.com
The music video which was shot on March 26th shows our front line staff getting ready for their line of work by preparing to go out on the frontline.
The music video features Dr Matthew O'Toole, Nurse Emma Coughlan, Paradmedic Steven Mangan, Daughter Saoirse and Actor Conor Bracken who are all playing their part in helping fight Covid-19.
