In a distressing event that went viral from Columbia University’s encampment, a dedicated facilities worker, Mario Torres, found himself in a harrowing situation that has since threatened his livelihood and well-being.

This campaign is to provide him with the necessary legal support to fight for his rights and secure his future.

The Story

Mario is a nighttime facilities worker. While performing his duties, found himself facing a mob of protestors who broke into the building where he works and nearly trapped him inside.

He had to fight his way out and is now bravely speaking out on the ways that Columbia put his and his colleagues’ safety at risk.

Since the incident on April 30, Mario has been too scared to to go back to campus.

He has a young family to support (two children, aged five and seven) and he is terrified he will lose his job.
