Heroic man who saved children from drowning.

My name is Christina Carter, We have created this Go Fund me page for my children's biological father Billy "Scott" Carter. Most know him as Scotty. Scotty has had a very tough life, and had recently over came his addictions and had almost 1 year of clean time. He had completely turned his life around and wasn't letting anything stop him. Scotty has five children, the ages of 15, 13, 11, 10 and 8. He has two girls and three boys. Even though scotty lived a rough life in the past years, this last year he was truly being set free. He built a relationship with God, which is something he had never had before. When Scotty left rehab back in May, he moved to Dry Branch Georgia with his girlfriend Jessica and her 4 children. He was starting a new life and began working at Academy sports. Life was going great, and he was about to hit 1 year in sobriety. On the day of Friday June 21st, 2024 a tragic event struck at the Ocmulgee River in Macon Georgia. Scotty took his girlfriend to work that morning and then went back home to get the 6 children and headed off to the river. Scotty arrived at the river at 12pm and texted his girlfriend that he had made it there. The children went out into river and Scotty told them not to go past the sandbar. He threw out his pole and realized that the three oldest girls were being pulled out by the current. He shouted for them to try to come back but the girls began to go under the water. Scotty immediately ran into the water to rescue them. When he reached the girls, he kept telling them to hold on as he swam back, pushing them to safety. When he noticed, he was beginning to struggle he instructed the girls to lay their backs and float the rest of the way to safety. Scotty began swallowing water and soon passed out. The oldest girl grabbed him by his necklace and tried to lift him up and his necklace snapped and he disappeared under the water. The kids began to scream for help and a bystander heard them and ran to them but did not see Scotty. He helped the children get out of he water and immediately dialed 911. Around 1;27 Scotty's body was recovered but he was unresponsive. The paramedics tried to resuscitate him but to no avail it was unsuccessful. He leaves behind 5 children, 2 baby sisters, and a brother. As well as a girlfriend and her four children. If you fell led to donate to the family, it will be greatly appreciated.
