Hero Labradors Service Dogs
Hero Labradors was founded by a disabled veteran and service dog owner who recognized a need in the pipeline for service dogs that wasn't being met: there are few (if any) breeders that are selecting for the qualities that make a good service dog. This often leaves training programs looking for sources of dogs of the caliber required to perform service tasks, and leaves wounded warriors, disabled veterans, and injured first resopnders who could benefit from service dogs waiting.
We aim to change that.
Hero Labradors' mission is to breed and select Labrador Retrievers of the highest quality, possessing the aptitude for service dog training, and to provide these dogs at no cost to service dog training programs.
Selected programs agree to train and provide these dogs at no cost to disabled American Veterans, their Families, the Military Community, and First Responders.
Ways your donation can help:
Feeding our dogs
Purchasing equipment for heating/cooling our kennel (we're in Texas, and cooling becomes an issue in the spring through late fall.)
Veterinary care--while we are working to establish coverage donated through local veterinarians to who donate their services, we still need topay for routine care of our dogs and puppies, to include vaccinations, hip/elbow/eye certification, DNA screening, and costs for breeding/insemination.
Transportation of our pups to training programs.
All funds will go to Hero Labradors for the operation of the charity and care of the dogs. Hero Labradors does NOT have paid employees, only volunteers.
