Herron Deck Family in time of Need

Who this will help
Hi everyone, meet Lizzy Herron. A spunky, smart, beautiful, intelligent, full of life 3 year old.
On December 4th, 2023, Lizzy was rushed to the emergency room due to urinating blood and in extreme pain. A scene I'm sure you can only imagine was terrifying for a 3 year old and her family. Her scans would find a 7.5 cm Wilms tumor on her right kidney needing to be removed immediately. Lizzy was transferring 2 hours from home to an incredible hospital to meet her new team of doctors who have been working hard to make this situation easier on her. After further review, the tumor has taken over her kidney and she will be losing her right kidney 12/7/23 in a 2-4 hour procedure. At this time they will also be putting in a port for chemotherapy. The tumor has invaded one of her blood vessels to the heart so they will be attempting to repair the vessel during this surgery as well. The recent discovery from scans have found spots on her lungs that they plan to watch and pray are inflammation instead of more tumor activity.
This family is terrified, and exhausted, separated from Lizzy's very best friend in the world at night (her big sister), and 2 hours from home, work, and life. This is requiring her Grandparents to make the 4 hour round trip every single to unite the family as well. Both parents are trying to be by her side during this ordeal as much as possible so I'm sure you can understand the financial burden this will put on them over time. At this point we have no idea the time frame of the journey and how much longer the family might be without work full time. If you can help at all during this time of need, please consider helping this incredible family. Every little bit helps.
If you can not help financially, please say a prayer for Lizzy during this time and consider keeping her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much

UPDATE 12/18/23
"Last week when we went to the doc they told us they thought Lizzys cancer was Stage 3 because of the way it had invaded the vessel of the heart among other things and she was going to need 6 rounds of radiation and 25 rounds of chemo. Doc just called. Pathology came back. It is only Stage 2 not Stage 3 so that is good news. She said the surgeon did such a great job getting the tumor and vessel in heart out all at once that it did not invade the border of vessel as much as they thought. She does not need radiation and only needs 18 or 19 chemo instead of 25 or 26. They will now send it off for a molecular test that tests for 2 chromosomes and if she comes back short on one of those that will extend her treatment some. So still a long road ahead but better than where we thought we were.."
Lizzy starts chemo tomorrow 12/20/23 at 9:30 AM Please pray that she doesn't get too sick from this journey and the chemo takes quickly and helps put this nightmare behind this family and this precious little girl.
This is only the beginning for this little warrior, please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers during this scary time.

So, they decided Lizzy is Stage 3 instead of Stage 2. We have a consult with the radiation doc next Tues at 8, then sedation at 1130 and then a simulation ct scan at noonish. This will let them map out exactly where the radiation needs to be. The nurse said they may do a round of radiation that day or they may wait until another day to start it. She will be sedated each round of radiation so she is perfectly still for it. Idk how many rounds yet of radiation. They originally had said 6 in the beginning when they thought she needed it but idk if that has changed or not. We will also start upping her chemo meds tomorrow at treatment and add on the extra ones that she needs and her chemo treatments will be extended also. She has tolerated chemo ok so far but I have a feeling she is about to become a sick little girl

Well what was suppose to just be a day of lab work at the clinic has turned in to us getting admitted to the hospital. She has felt like crap the last cpl days and she spiked 102 temp this morning before we headed over. They rushed us right in and started fluids and antibiotics and took blood. So far we know her white count and hemoglobin and platelets are wiped out. They are going to give her blood and I believe she said platelets and admit her on antibiotics. We are waiting on the rest of blood work to come back to see if there is anything else come up. So looks like we are in for another hospital stay for who knows how long
Well we have been admitted for a few days at least. They gave her platelets and a huge bag of blood that took 3 hours to get. Fever has came down some and she feels a little better but still not great. She perks up a bit and then crashes again. They will not let us leave until her numbers come up. They were so low she was critical. Thankful for such a great team of nurses and docs that were right on top of it the minute we walked in the door. I had called ahead of time to tell them of her fever and they had her fluids and antibiotics ready before we even got here

I really, honestly do not know how much more bad news we can all take. Doc just called me. Surgeon determined lung spots are in fact cancer spots. They are to small to biopsy. It would be to dangerous for Lizzy so she will have to have radiation on them. They do not like doing lung radiation on little kids. Idk how many treatments or when they will start or anything until radiation doc calls me and lets me know anything about it. It is just hit after hit for this poor little girl it seems
