Helping Chris’s Recovery & Medical Bills
Donation protected
*Update 6/18
Chris was admitted into the hospital last Tuesday as an emergency need and had surgery the following morning. All went well and he is doing amazing! He said it’s a night and day difference in how much he’s already regained sensation and feeling in many of the areas in which he had lost it. The Dr. said he was virtually on the border of paralysis when they admitted him, so it was a major blessing they were able to operate on him before that happened. They took out the disc in his neck and inserted an artificial attachment using stem cells from his thigh to regenerate bone nerves in that area. (I will have to take better notes at his next appointment so I can explain that better in my next update )
Still doing all we can to reach our fundraising goal because he now has a mountain of medical bills from the surgery and hospital stay. There’s also rehabilitation and recovery appointments already scheduled for him every month and into 2023.
I want to thank everyone who has donated for your generosity! Hopefully we can keep this going till we hit our goal so Chris can get back on his feet as soon as possible.

—I'm asking for your help raising money for my son Chris to get Spinal Fusion surgery. He desperately needs this surgery soon to avoid permanent nerve and spinal damage.
For about 6 years or so Chris experienced short periods of moderate to extreme pain in his neck and back. These flare-ups were unpredictable and sometimes would last a day and sometimes a couple of months. Since Chris doesn’t have Medical Insurance, he never took the time to seek answers or treatment for these issues because of the cost and that it wasn’t affecting him other than dealing with some annoying pain from time to time. Then toward the end of 2020 Chris started experiencing sharp pains in his neck, hands and feet as well as severe numbness sensation in some of those same places.
In January of 2021 Chris got an MRI taken and in February of ‘21 had a CT scan done. He was diagnosed with 4 herniated discs in his neck and a narrowing of his spine. Chris's Doctor is a very experienced and highly respected Orthopedic Surgeon, he told us that it would get progressively worse without being repaired surgically and that if he waits too long, there will be a point where it cannot be repaired.
Even with a generous discount from the surgeon, the total cost for the surgery would be right around $25,000.
The estimated cost given would cover:
$9,500 for Surgeon
$13,800 for Surgery Center
$800-$1,500 for Anesthesiologist
Having no health insurance makes getting this surgery before it's too late next to impossible. Chris's condition is worsening and the last hope we have to be able to pay for surgery is by asking for help from family, friends and others through GoFundMe.
If he is unable to get surgery to repair the discs and narrowing of his spine soon it is going to be too late to where it becomes unrepairable. He will also eventually get to a point to where we won’t be able to walk or use his hands much if at all, which will severely limit his ability to work and provide for his family.
Chris has 2 beautiful children that he lives for and supporting them financially has been very tough for him lately due to all of the medical expenses he’s had to pay for in the past year.
Whether you are family member, a friend of Chris, a friend of mine or just an Anonymous Angel I want you to know any contribution is greatly appreciated! Even if you are unable to contribute I just ask that everyone keeps him in your thoughts sending positive vibes his way and in your prayers as he faces this daunting challenge with his health and well being.
Thank you!
