HEY BOY! (Luke's Early Transition Fund)

Donation protected
Hi everyone, friends, family and acquaintances!
I’m honestly a bit shy reaching out to ask for funds, as I know just how hard the pandemic has impacted everyone. However, I mean it with the utmost sincerity when I say that everyone should be granted the chance to live their life as authentically as possible!
So, I hear you ask, Who is Luke?
Luke is a queer, trans man turning twenty-five this Spring. He’s not only my best friend but my family and my closest confidant. He’s an amazing artist, creative and incredibly funny. He brings passion and enthusiasm to everything he does and has such a fun, silly personality that can brighten your mood even on the worst of days. His most wonderful trait however, as cheesy as it sounds, is his ability to love with all his heart. He’s the type of friend to drop everything to comfort you and will go out of his way to cheer you up no matter the reason.

Unfortunately, that consideration is not always returned as it should.
Luke is from a family of religious conservatives and receives no financial or emotional support from either his parents. When he moved out at 20, he began working full-time while at the same time attending art school and has recently graduated. Prioritizing his education, he has had to make the difficult choice to forego comfort in his own body and experience dysmorphia in order to be able to sustain himself financially and live freely, openly and independently. The continued use of a binder and breast tape over time has taken a physical toll and contributes to chronic pain in order for him to present. It frankly wreaks havoc on his musculature.

Luke isn’t the type to accept help easily, let alone charity, which is why I am setting up this account on his behalf in order to kickstart his transition. I want to see some of the pressure alleviated off of him so he can focus on work, education and passion projects, rather than this lofty goal.  Unfortunately the reality right now is that transitioning costs an unjust, frankly criminal amount, even with the costs covered by insurance. As such, this money will contribute to the continued HRT treatments and hopefully start a fund contributing to an eventual mastectomy.

Even if the goal is not met, every little bit helps! Even something as small as $2/£2 can be impactful over time. I am currently getting my MA abroad right now
(U.S. tuition rates, am I right?) But I’d like to do something nice for every person who donates $25/£25 or above. If you include/send me your address, you will get a ‘Thank You’ note by way of a signed London postcard from me. Something cute to stick on your fridge perchance? Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for helping in this endeavor!
