Hey sweet friends, I need your help...

Medical bills can be a huge burden for anyone, and unfortunately, Debbie is facing this challenge. She has been struggling with several serious medical conditions that require ongoing treatment and care, including a brain tumor, heart conditions (to which she had open heart surgery for several years ago), a recent dental emergency, and more . The expenses associated with the medical conditions have been piling up, and Debbie is in need of ongoing financial assistance to cover these costs. She’s given the majority of her life to her nursing career and helping others, but can no longer work due to these health conditions. We are asking for your help in supporting Debbie by making a donation to her GoFundMe campaign. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in Debbie's life and help alleviate the stress and worry that come with overwhelming medical bills. Thank you for your kindness and generosity! Please read the letter from Debbie below:
Hey Sweet Friends,
I pray you are all well and finding some peace and happiness in each day. I’ve been through some very difficult times throughout my life, as many of us have, but writing this note is one of the most difficult and humbling things that I have ever had to do. As a person who has dedicated my entire professional and personal life to helping others in need, admitting that I need help myself is heartbreaking for me. Putting it out there for all to see is not easy. I have avoided this as long as I can….so, after much prayer….here we go.
The last several years have been especially hard for me. Because I am filled with the love of Jesus, I’m still able to keep a smile on my face….but believe me when I tell you, there have been many tears behind the smiles. Here I am, at 73 years old, with a continuous stream of SERIOUS medical afflictions that constantly drain my finances. I have been known to jokingly say, “They just need to tattoo a bar code on me because I’ve had more scans than Walmart and I’m tired of filling out all the paperwork each time!” The problem is….it’s not a joke.
All the MULTIPLE serious surgeries (Including open heart.), scans, MRI’s, ultrasounds, physician visits, treatments and concerning diagnoses have taken their toll on me. The addition of a brain tumor to the list has complicated things even more. I downsized from my home six years ago, to a small one bedroom apartment. Having to sell and give away most of my belongings was not easy, but necessary. Those who know me best, know that for MANY years, I have bought the majority of my clothes, shoes and accessories from Goodwill Stores. I buy my makeup from the dollar stores and discount stores. I have always colored my own hair, I cut my own hair, I have only been to a nail salon five times in my entire life (And those were gifts.) I watch the grocery stores for bargains. I have NEVER owned a major credit card, so I’m not in credit card debt. So, how can someone who does all these things and more, find themselves in financial hardship???? In one sentence…. IT DOESN’T TAKE BUT ONE SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR ILLNESS TO COMPLETELY CHANGE YOUR LIFE….and I have several.
That combined with the SOARING cost of rent, food and supplies, gas, medical insurances, medicines, etc. have contributed to the problem. On top of all that, this past week, I experienced a dental emergency. I was evaluated by my dentist a few days ago. The cost to fix my dental emergency alone is astronomical. As you might already know, people with existing heart problems have to be very cautious with dental issues, as they can go straight to the heart and be fatal. So, my sweet friends, I am praying for miracles….which I strongly believe in. I have looked into all kinds of organizations, agencies, some churches…but unfortunately, I don’t qualify for any help from any of those that have been contacted. I am SO THANKFUL to God for bringing me this far, and for the abundant generosity from my children, family members and friends over the years. My long term goal to resolve my problem is to continue working on my writing and get my series of inspirational books/stories published. That has ALWAYS been my lifetime dream, and that has never changed. Please know that I am busily working on them. Thanks so much to all of you who have commented on my stories through the years. Nothing touches this writer’s heart more than hearing, “Your stories really speak to me and make a difference in my life.” My prayer is that my true inspirational stories will continue to bless and encourage ALL of us to hold on in faith, and never forget that God is always listening….and STILL in the miracle business! I have no doubts that however He brings me through all this, will fill the pages of my stories for a long time.
Thanks so much, my precious friends, for taking the time to read this…. And for all your prayers. Know that I genuinely pray for y’all every day. I know that God works in mysterious ways, and that He also works through people. Please take a moment to pray about it, and if God places it upon your heart to donate to help me through all this, I am beyond grateful. Please feel free to share the info.
Love to all,
Deb
