Let's help Coach Smiley during this time of need

The Bainbridge Mavericks community would like to start a GoFundMe page in order to help someone that has meant so much to all of us...players, parents & coaches.

Heywood Lyle Smiley will "smile" down upon us all, knowing the impact his son Gerald has had on our kids.

Coach Smiley's positive words, leadership, mentorship and love of our boys is felt by all of us. 

It's with a heavy heart we mourn the passing of Heywood Lyle Smiley, father of our beloved Coach Gerald Smiley, and we would ask that you donate what you can to help the Smiley family deal with this terrible tragedy. 

October 2017 Coach Smiley mourned the passing of his mother, and now, just a short year later he's lost his father.  Coach Smiley & his brother have to plan their father's funeral & burial, take care of all the fiduciary transactions, and shoulder the expenses associated with all of this, and closing his father's estate.  The costs are approximately $24,000 and your donation can help ease the financial burden for Coach Smiley & his family,  and allow them to properly grieve for their father. 

When in times of need, it's community that needs to step in and help ease the burden for others.
