Hi. I'm Karen Huey and these are the siblings and mother of James Micheal Huey who was just killed in a traumatic car accident on his 19th birthday 12/26/2015.

This family has suffered unbelievable loss over the past year. To name a few they lost a father (6 years ago, estranged-not deceased), a significant other, their van, their home, and now their brother. *Note: the eldest girl's father still lives.

The mom is disabled with reumitoid arthritis, fibromialgia, and a rare hip disorder that causes unbelievable pain and suffering. She has recently become unable to work due to these illnesses. She does her best to hide these disabilities from the world and her children. I have NEVER met a more devoted mother than Lyndsey and have fashioned my own parenting of my 16 year old son (uncle to James) after her example.

They have no life insurance, a very iffy vehicle, and -0- financial support except a small stipend from an ex-husband, who has shared custody of one of the children.

You are all good friends to me and I am asking that you open your hearts and help support this lovely family in burying their loved one.

I have been helping to support the family with a home and as much financial support as I can for the past 6 months. I am grateful to the many new friends that I am meeting through this tragedy and the prayers and well wishes of many old friends.

James' grandfather is a disabled Vietnam veteran with a severe TBI caused by an auto accident in 2001 so we are no strangers to heartache. When Larry woke up from a long coma, James was the only child he remembered. He did not even recall that he had a one year old son! Because of this pre-accident memory, James has always been special to grandpa. To all the veterans out there, we thank you for your service to God and our country.
