Safe at Home
On Monday, November 17, 2014, my good friend Guillermo “Bill” Chavez was called to come home. Bill was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. Those of us who have lost a loved one to this disease know how difficult it is to watch someone go through so much pain because we suffer with them. Bill did not know how to give up. He remained strong till the end.
Bill was a friend like no other, great father, devoted husband, hard-working, honest, and with an unassuming generosity.
Bill devoted countless hours to Saticoy Little League coaching the youth and officiating. He always had a “strong presence” on the field and off. Although we may be separated in the interim, nothing will diminish the important role that he played in our lives.
He gave without asking for anything in return. This is our opportunity to give back to Bill by donating to the Bill Chavez Memorial Fund to help his wife Rhonda, daughter Miranda, and son Justice.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away”. Revelation 21:4
