Keep Linwood Church Warm!

Throughout its nearly 100 year ministry, Linwood Christian Church, on the near Eastside of Indianapolis, has dedicated itself to its neighborhood in many ways.  Whether it's by attending a worship service, looking for a bargain in our Rummage Room, or seeking help for the family in our Food Pantry, the neighbors in the Linwood area find a welcome at Linwood Church.  We are loving God and loving our neighbors, every day!  We have a solid group of members and friends who volunteer to keep our neighborhood and church ministries operating at a busy level.  What we DON'T have is lots of money and, right now especially, we need some!

Our old boiler, which was installed at the church over 50 years ago, did not pass its inspection this year.  After several years of babying it along, this good and faithful servant has finally given up.  We need to purchase and install a new boiler in order to maintain the ministries to which we have dedicated our church lives.  Time is of the essence as winter weather is just around the corner!

This isn't only about comfort - the area of the church heated by the boiler also houses our organ compressor, and lots of plumbing, including the pipes and water supply for our baptistry.  Without the heat the boiler provides, all of those other parts of our infrastructure are in jeopardy as winter approaches.

This project is very important to us!  We believe beyond the shadow of a doubt that God is calling us to serve the people in our neighborhood.  We have dug in our heels and worked hard to make ourselves responsive and relevant as our neighborhood has changed to an area that needs us now more than ever.   We are already trying our best to finance this project.  We need help, though, and will be very, very grateful for your generous donation.
