NGAWUDU ULTRA MARATHON, KANDIWAL COMMUNITY FUND-RAISER
Donazione protetta
Nestled in the Far North Kimberley on Wunumbal country lies the Kandiwal community. Despite all of the obstacles that this remote community faces on the daily, continuous smiles adorn the faces of everyone that resides here.
The school that operates at the community receives no government financial support and is completely funded by the community themselves out of their own pocket.
Funds raised from this marathon will be spent where the community has decided they need it most:
• A new shade shelter for the school (which is currently very exposed in this hot climate).
• A kitchen garden to provide fresh fruit for the children and members of community (which is otherwise inaccessible to them given the exorbitant delivery costs as groceries and supplies the community orders are received by freight plane).
• Tools / Building materials. Due to the remote nature of the community, being able to afford to get any tradesman out here is beyond difficult. For the community to have their own supply of tools to be see out the work themselves is crucial in these projects.
This marathon fundraiser will span a whopping 52km along a route from the community all the way to Punamii-Unpuu (Mitchell Falls) and back. Navigating this rocky, dry and dusty terrain in the extreme Kimberley heat is no small feat.
All donations for this marathon fundraiser are greatly appreciated, thank you!
