WELCOME to Healing Hearts expansion project, Acres of Hope.

We are reaching out and asking for help!!!! We currently have an amazing opportunity to enhance the lives of our animals and expand our healing program. The parcel of property right next to HHFS is for sale, and it would give us an additional 20 acres; it would literally double what we have now, which is absolutely life changing for our animals and team! This new land is perfect as it is flat, there is tons of grazing pasture available, and it would give our animals more room to enjoy their lives in SOOOO many ways. Healing Hearts is a non-profit farm animal rescue and sanctuary, dedicated to helping animals that are neglected, abused, unwanted or slaughter bound, by providing refuge and showing them kindness and compassion. Our mission is to foster healing through building connections between animals, humans, and nature. Purchasing this land, with your help, helps us to expand our mission and provides a multitude of benefits to our Sanctuary.

The benefits include:

We’d not only be able to use the property for grazing purposes, but also for pasture rotation. This in turn allows us to give our existing property the break it needs to replenish, and continue to grow refuge for them to eat. This means from spring to fall they could graze! Our hay bill would be drastically reduced (minus winter months).

This additional 20 acres would give us the land to put in all of our new shelters and buildings & is perfect for the set up we have envisioned, since it's FLAT & open.

We would be able to have a separate arena and round pen put in, just for equine therapy, and it wouldn't take away or interrupt our animal’s sanctuary life.

It would allow us to use an existing area solely for quarantine when needed. This area would also provide a safe area for those that need to relocate animals during fires or flooding.

Our blind horses would get a huge expansion. In time, it would also allow us to expand our program for retired or blind horses, as our existing program & setup is perfect for their needs & they are a very “at risk population”, who we hate to have to turn away.

This new land will change lives; we're different from a rescue who brings in horses then adopts out to make more room. All ours stay here for life. So having more space to roam, and property to enhance their lives, is important.

How the funds raised will be used: The money we receive for this fundraiser would go directly to the purchase of this land parcel. This land would make THE ENTIRE world of difference to our herd. We are home to over 150 animals, with 60 of them being equines. 20 additional acres for them to graze, roam, run, play is life changing for them. Our animals don't live in pens, unlike most other places. We want to continue to provide them the life they deserve and thrive in. This land would change the lives of so many animals, volunteers that get to work with them, and provide an expanded place for therapy for those in need.
