Caring for Caitlin
Donation protected
My daughter, Caitlin Leary Christianson, was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (diffuse large B cell). Just 31 years old, she is a loving sister, dependable friend, devoted mother, funny aunt, and dedicated student.
Known for exhibiting compassion and empathy, Caitlin goes to great lengths to assist others in any way possible without an expectation of recognition or repayment. Family, friends, neighbors, and the local community have all experienced Caitlin's big heart. Now, we are hoping that she can count on you to support her during this difficult time.
As a recently divorced single mother, Caitlin works multiple part time jobs in order to provide for her son, while also being available for him. Amazingly, she has been able to do this while also attending Northeastern's paramedic fire science program and has almost completed her clinical requirement.
Her diagnosis requires intensive chemotherapy treatment. She is currently on Rituxan as an oral chemotherapy medication and has had one IV chemo session where she developed some problems which led her to temporary admitssion at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She will continue with the oral chemo medication in addition to IV chemotherapy beginning immediately after Thanksgiving and continuing through the Fall of 2015. Her NHL has affected areas in her neck, under her arm, as well as her spleen. The intensity of this treatment means that she will be unable to work or attend school, resulting in both loss of income as well as money and time invested in her education. Her job will be to overcome her disease and this will take all of her energy.
Caitlin is fortunate to have health insurance but doesn't have any type of benefit that would provide her, the sole household earner, with a source of income while she is unable to work. We are asking friends and family to consider a donation to help keep Caitlin afloat and ease the overwhelming financial burden. She is trying to figure out how to manage all of her household expenses as well as new costs such as gas, parking, and co payments that have already quickly begun to pile up. Caitlin is hopeful that she will be able to stay in her home where her and her son have settled and feel content.
Please consider helping with a donation and sharing this page with friends. She needs your help!
Thank you,
Deb Leary
