Hicks Family Fundraiser

Dear Friends and Neighbours,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Suzie Hicks, and I’m writing to share the story of my brother Anthony Hicks, his wife Allison and their family. This humble country family from Woodville has faced extraordinary medical challenges over the last two years,
taking a major toll on them physically, emotionally, and financially.
Anthony and Allison have always valued family above all else. After their son Bill was born with special needs, Anthony left his trade to run a home-based business, allowing him to support his family. Allison, already caring for her brother Max, also became the
primary caregiver for her terminally ill sister and young niece in 2020. In March 2022, shockingly Allison was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, which has meant undergoing multiple lifesaving surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy. Despite their resilience, the challenges intensified when Allison’s sister passed away in
March 2023, and they took on care of their niece as part of their family.
Amidst all this Anthony has postponed his own necessary surgeries for back and shoulder injuries to keep financially and physically supporting the family to ensure they have as normal a life as he can while Allison tries to recover.
Anthony and Allison never ask for help, but I’m reaching out today to raise funds to allow Anthony to temporarily close the family business long enough to allow him to have his much-needed surgery and recovery time to focus on health and family without the fear of financial instability.
Any donations no matter small or large, would so gratefully be accepted. Your kindness and generosity for this family, whether through a donation or by simply spreading the word, will make a profound difference in their lives during this challenging time.
If you are in a position to contribute or have ideas on how to support the Hicks family, please reach out to me directly as I would discuss this further.
Thank you for considering this heartfelt request.
With gratitude,
Suzie
