Angels for the Higgin’s Family
It is with great sadness and heavy heart that I write these words to share the tragic news concerning the loss of Mark Higgins. He is survived by his wife Misty, his sons Andrew, Alex, and Aidan, and daughter Ally. Mark is no longer able to share in the memories of his family and friends, but will be remembered fondly by us all. Mark fought the good fight, was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, and friend to many and will be sorely missed. We are sure he will continue to guide and care for us from heaven as he sits next to his dad, Grammy Sandy, and all of those who went before him and have welcomed him with open arms.
2016 and 2017 were extremely rough for Mark but his story began in 2011 when he reported for bypass surgery and was unable to fully recover. After years of struggling with misdiagnosis, conjecture at what may be wrong, and astronomical medical bills he was finally diagnosed with a rare type of autonomic dysfunction syndrome. Mark was cared for by his loving and devoted wife who witnessed the struggles first hand. These struggles took a serious toll on her own health and in 2016 she was hospitalized with a severe case of encephalitis and 9 months later has still not been able to return to work. During this time period Mark’s condition continued to deteriorate and Misty was the sole caretaker for her family.
Friends, families, and readers of this post – this family needs all the help they can get during this emotional loss. Misty will be allowed to return to work in August, which is still months away. Please take the time to consider a donation and share this information with anyone who you think may be able to assist in this time of need.
