High Mead Farm - Tough Mudder

Finding High Mead Farm

During the past 12 months, I think its fair to say that life has changed for pretty much everyone. Whilst we at Southern & West Lettings were lucky enough to be able to continue working and getting an income, there are other people and businesses who haven't been so fortunate.

This got us thinking about people and businesses within close proximity to our office and how COVID-19 may have affected them. We decided that we needed to do something, even if it was just to help one of them.

A short drive (or walk if you are able and not being lazy) from our office is High Mead Farm. A place unlike any other I had ever come across. This place isn't just a farm, it is a place that helps all manner of people from all walks of life including those living with mental health issues, physical disabilities, addiction, Alzheimer & dementia diagnosis, brain injury, vision & hearing impairment, autism, children excluded from school, Parkinson’s and learning difficulties, by engaging in an array of interesting activities on the farm using Animals, Soil & Nature.  By creating purposeful roles within the Farm environment they bring a sense of well-being and self-worth that many have never experienced before.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 the majority of their income has stopped and behind the closed gates of this Fantastic Farm are animals that still need food, water and care.

Please feel free to take a look at their website to find out more about this great place:

How do we Fundraise?

It was a little tricky to decide on the best way we could try and raise some money for this fantastic cause amidst a global pandemic. Cake making was out, not just because none of us are actually any good at baking, but we didn't think it was appropriate to go door knocking with our goods in hand in the middle of a national lockdown.

Soooo we thought why not embark on a 5km Tough Mudder Run complete with 13 Obstacles? 3 of our girls at Southern & West Lettings are getting on with training for this challenge, which will take place on 22.8.2021. Spectators are welcome :)
