High Point Neighborhood Scholarship Fund

The High School graduates of 2020 & 2021 have a unique journey. Between graduating on-line and jobs being scarce, it is time we launch the inaugural High Point Educational Scholarship.
This is something I have wanted to start for ten years now (BK = Before Kids), since being a Trustee with the High Point Neighborhood Association. And so every time I walk by a sign that noted a 2020 Graduate living in our community, I reflect back on my experience as a graduating senior. I worked my tail off and took almost every honors course I could, so I was surprised to only receive one scholarship from the local bottling company for $500.
Yet that support stuck with me and gave me courage that someone else believed in me. What I recall the most was handwriting a Thank You note to L&E Bottlers for thinking of me. Who encouraged you along the way in your journey? What relationships and financial support did you need on your journey?
So I want to support the incredible young people of High Point. They have tremendous courage and resiliency already. The goal is to provide each of the 20 High School graduates with $500 each, so the goal is to raise the $10,000. If we can raise more, then we launch the 2021 Scholarship as well! Let's do it. And then build on it each year.
Thank you,
