High School Walk Out - March - Peaceful Protest
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Stella. I am a junior at Cape Elizabeth High School and for the past 10 years, I have worried about getting shot at school. This isn't something kids should have to think about. We should be focused on our classes and our friends, not active shooter drills or actual gunmen.
Last week's devasting shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas once again proves how easy it is for someone to buy assault weapons and enter schools to kill children. I don't understand why any civilian needs an automatic weapon or high-capacity magazine. They are exceptionally deadly and made specifically for mass shootings and death.
I am organizing a walk-out, march, and peaceful protest to let our Maine senators, specifically Susan Collins know how important this issue is to Maine students and their families.
We anticipate parking and lack of personal transportation being an issue so we plan to charter a bus. We also plan to make flyers and signs to convey our message.
Anything you are willing to contribute would greatly help and any additional funds will be donated to Students Demand Action.
