Welcome to Illias's Fundraising Page. We are currently fundraising to support Illias in his bid to get a new specialised racing wheelchair so that he can continue his dream of one day representing Team GB at the Paralympics!!!

About Illias

Since birth, Illias has been paralysed from the waist down. But he’s never let that get in the way of his love of sport.

Illias has established himself as one of the best wheelchair athletes in the business, consistently ranking in the top 10 in the world in his age category.

The talented teenager competes in the T54 category, which is for athletes with paraplegia but who have normal hand and arm function and normal or limited trunk function.

He has won countless medals, trophies and titles across all distances, covering the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1,500m. Earlier this year he made a victorious debut at an even greater distance, winning the Brighton half-marathon at the first time of asking.

Illias was introduced to the wheelchair racing at the age of 10 years by Anthony Norris a coach at Highgate Harriers who believed in Illias from the start and this is where he trained for a few years and who funded Illias with new bespoke beginner equipment and one to one coaching to start his athletics journey. Then Illias moved to and is now training at the Weir Archer Academy in Kingston, which is run by six-time Paralympic champion David Weir and his long-term coach Jenny Archer. Even though he is at the Weir Archer academy he still does go back to his home club and trains with his original club, Highgate Harriers. Also with his coaches' guidance, and a lot of hard work and determination, Illias earned a place in the England Athletics Para Academy, where he trains alongside fellow elite athletes as he continues his quest of one day representing Team GB.

Unfortunately, hard work and determination alone are not enough. Competing in the sport that he loves is expensive. Illias is currently fundraising in the hope of getting a specialised racing wheelchair, which will cost upwards of £25,000.

We are kindly asking that you support us in helping Illias to continue his dream. Any help would be appreciated, whether it is donating to this fundraiser, or sharing the link to your social media channels and networks.
