Highland City Bike Park and Skills Course
My name is Carson Seegmiller and for my Eagle Scout project I am excited to announce that I just received approval from the Highland City Council for use of City property to construct a family BMX/Mountain bike park and skills course for our community. It will be located on the property west of Lone Peak High School soccer field. The park will consist of a family track where the whole family can ride together without much difficulty. The track will also have multiple courses for all skill levels.
We've enlisted the help of two Professional BMX riders, Jonsey Fedderson and Cody Gessel for help on designing a safe yet fun track.
My goals are to:
1. Provide a place where the community can come with their kids to ride and enjoy the out of doors.
2. Get kids off of the couch and doing something active.
3. Unplug! Sometimes it is good to take a break, put down the electronic device and pedal!
4. Involve our community in a big way to help build and maintain a bike park for years to come. Landscapers, excavators and builders are needed for different parts of the course!
Many have said, "Wow, that is an awesome project...and a very, very BIG project." That's why I need your help! Without your help we have little chance of succeeding. The City was generous to donate use of the land for the cause but building the track will be determined by what I can raise and who will help!
The more we can raise, the better the bike park can be.
