We are the Highlander Racing Team at The New Jersey Institute of Technology. We are a collegiate automotive racing team, and we take place in the Baja SAE competitions. Our team has the goal of designing, fabricating, and then racing a single seat semi-professional off road car. There are three competitions which we will be present at this year, each with its own set of challenges. The first competition is held in Tennessee, where we will face heavy mud. The second event will be in California where we will face high altitudes and sand. The last competition is in upstate New York, where we will face very rocky terrain. At each of these three competitions, 100 universities from around the world will be showcasing their best in engineering and design capabilities. As well as the collegiate teams, many industry sponsors will be present to assist their respective teams.
As you well may imagine, completing a car from the ground up is very expensive. The design of our car is complete, but in order to complete the fabrication we need your help. To reach our goal, and complete our Baja car, we will need a minimum of $6,000 more.
This money will specifically be going towards our brakes, electical system, and custom CV axles. Any amount that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.
Our first competition beings April 14, so we really need this funding by the middle of February in order to complete our car on time.
