Highway Sign Replacement Project for Consecon Hamlet PEC
Donation protected
Consecon and Area Ratepayer Association (CARA) is a community organization set up to improve the lives of the people in Consecon and Area (NW PEC). In 2009, the "Hamlet of Consecon" signage was installed along Highway 33 (Loyalist Parkway) to indicate entry points and to welcome people into the hamlet. Over time, this signage has weathered badly and is now beyond repair. The signage needs replacing.
While the County regulates signage design, local communities are responsible for their own area signage design, construction and upkeep. CARA has been rebuilding (post-COVID) and is now in a position to focus our fundraising efforts on this important project.
CARA plans to have built and installed three signs in total: two signs to replace the current weathered signs and one new sign to mark the yet-unmarked entry to the hamlet from Highway 1 (Scoharie Road). The new signs will be made from more durable materials (extruded aluminum instead of plastic and wood). Thank you to Adam Axcell for his creation of the new design work! We are now working with Ken at Spirit Signs to build and install the new signage.
While annual membership and sponsorship has helped us accumulate some of the funds for this, we are in a shortfall! We need and are grateful for your help in funding this crucial community project.
