Highjinx Donation in Catherine McKenney’s Name
Donation protected
City Counsellor Catherine McKenney was likely already a household name for downtown residents of Ottawa, Ontario when the current occupation of our city began. Recently, Counsellor McKenney has consistently and passionately advocated for the residents of Downtown, Centretown, and adjacent areas through legislative support for higher fines for idling, focus on the effects of chronic diesel fumes to both the environment and to our health. Highjinx, the supported organization, is an Ottawa-local social enterprise focused on helping neighbours.
Catherine McKenney is and continues to be our strongest advocate through this terroristic and violent occupation over the last three weeks. For this reason and the reasons listed above, I would like to ask for your donation to the Ottawa-based social enterprise Highjinx in the name of City Counsellor Catherine McKenney.
Highjinx is a local social enterprise with the core focus of "neighbours helping neighbours". Through the dedicated and thoughtful implementation of a Community Pantry, and a furniture bank, this little shop on Kent St. is completely dedicated to helping people. This is an organization that describes what we want the world to know about us; that we are helpful, polite and apologetically Canadian. We can help them help our people.
Donors will be referenced (by name, by consent) in a personal letter sent to the office of Catherine McKenney. The donation will be sent in dollar amount to Hijinks for them to use as they see fit.
Thank you so much for your consideration.

On accountability: Highjinx will receive the full amount of donations (100 per cent) made to the gofundme.
