Trek for Lynn in aid of Air Ambulance NI
Donation protected
Hello,
We are Mark, Rebekah, Jessica and Sophie, and we are going to Jordan to trek to Petra on March 25th to raise money for the Air Ambulance NI. It is a challenging 5-day trek where we will be crossing deserts, ascending mountains, traversing high ridges and down into wadis, through deep gorges and canyons shaped by the elements as well as crossing high ridges on routes once known only to the local Bedouin.
Air Ambulance NI, is a charity in Northern Ireland that work in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), to provide the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the region. The charity aspires to raise £2 million per year to sustain and develop the air ambulance service which is vital to the North of Ireland. Serious or life-threatening situations can happen to anyone at any time and on average, every single day in Northern Ireland, two individuals find themselves in critical need of AANI.
With 3,351 taskings from its launch in July 2017 to December 2022, it displays the critical need for this entirely self-funded charity, and unfortunately, one of those tasks was to our home in July 2019 for the most important person in our lives, our lovely mum, Lynn.
Following the horrendous diagnosis, numerous months in hospital and the regional brain injury unit, our story seemed to have a very positive outlook and certainly, without the participation of the Air Ambulance, our story would have been entirely different with a very abrupt ending that day.
Despite our challenges, we have had some good times and some extra time with Lynn over the first year from her initial Brain Injury and because of this, the Air Ambulance is a service that we are proud to get behind. While we have done several small things over the last few years to show our appreciation, we have never got a chance to really thank them for their impeccable service that day.
The Air Ambulance is so much more than a route to hospital; it is reassurance to know that help is on the way and will be with you within minutes & it is HOPE for a positive outcome.
We HOPE that if someday you or your family needs the service of the Air Ambulance, it will be as available to you as it was for us.
It's time for something POSITIVE !!!
We are aiming to raise £25,000 in sponsorship and donations. While the majority of the trip is self-funded, we will be using £4,000 to help with expenses and the remaining balance will go to the Air Ambulance NI.
25 is Lynn’s birthday - a very meaningful number for us. We would love if you could help us reach our goal. Every donation is appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
