Hip Hops Toys for Tots 2016
Donation protected
Nanaimo’s local Hip Hop community will host a fundraising event, Hip Hops Toys for Tots, December 1 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, at The Cambie, to raise funds for families in need.
We urge the local community of Nanaimo to show their support by participating in a fun filled evening of live performances from some of the best local Hip Hop artists, as well as some special out of town guests. Hip Hop Toys for Tots will offer a silent auction, 50/50 draw, and more. This will be our 3rd annual event and hope to raise the bar in comparison to the past years success.

Advance tickets are available.
The Cause
Hip Hop culture in most; if not all local communities are large supporters of local growth and prosperity. Unlike the shallow light that media portrays on young artists, the majority of them really only want to witness their neighborhoods and communities support each other. The realization that coming together and uniting can create change is more important than most would think. The founder and creator of Hip Hops Toys for Tots, Tyler (Jinx) Barnes, is a local Hip Hop artist himself, who stems from Edmonton, Alberta, and understands what it is to go with nothing during the holiday season. With numerous live performances organized and developed within the City of Nanaimo, Tyler Barnes decided to utilize his platform at least once a year to give back to the community. Tyler, better known as Jinx, lives in Nanaimo, BC, as a full time father to his 5 year old daughter.
Hip Hops Toys for Tots will raise money and take in numerous donations, specifically toys, for less fortunate local families. In 2015, the event helped 11 separate families, 30 children in total, to put that extra bit of cheer into their Christmas mornings. We will also be taking in donations of food and clothing. We hope to bring whatever Christmas cheer we can to the people most in need, and make a change for the better.
