I’m getting inked for the first time - my folks are probably bout to trip but it's for a great cause so they'll hopefully let me at least eat my thanksgiving plate
somewhere on the property in a few weeks.

I’ve been following the work of Eva Krbdk  of Atelier Eva , an incredibly skilled
and renowned tattoo artist who specializes in illustrative miniature fine art, for a
few years at this point. The tattoo in my head was one that I knew her style would compliment perfectly - I knew if I ever actually went thru with getting the tattoo, I'd have to try and make it happen with Eva.

I hit her up on a whim, thinking there’s no way she’d even see my dm. Fortunately
for me, she had some things open up & could actually see me. From that exchange, we set up a consultation and prior to the meeting, I was to email over some info. I sent a folder filled with hella references and a link to this video - the short story that made a world of difference in a tough time and inspired the tattoo: The Story of the Hummingbird

I explained to Eva how the story was relayed years ago from an old friend after I was first properly diagnosed with my anxiety disorder. The tattoo represents the
story, and the birth of my new mindset - "do everything I can, as best I can and
leave the rest to the wind". Maintaining that mindset, remembering to control
what's controllable and that whatever isn't, isn't for me any way, helps me
move a lot more fearlessly.  "Be ThuHummingbird" is always in the back of my mind, and I finally felt compelled enough to make the whole thing official.

After talking for close to an hour, Eva did the last thing I could’ve imagined - she
told me she didn’t want to charge me for the tattoo....right, whatchu mean, Eva?!
She quickly followed by explaining how she's been doing her part to make a
tremendous difference - instead of paying her, we'd take the total session cost
and donate it to any non-profit organization within the education or arts space.

As an Atelier, our shop isn't just a tattoo studio - we're dedicated towards being a welcoming space for all creative endeavors and those who create. Eva personally dedicates one appointment per month towards charity, working with a client who's story she aligns with to donate 100% of her profits towards a cause they both
feel strongly about.

As many of our fans know, one of our main goals as artists is to consistently do
our part to give back and empower our communities - support the truly
disenfranchised. We believe the best thing we can do in our current position is aid efforts that help progress our people - once presented with this incredible
opportunity, I knew I wanted to focus the campaign on organizations surrounding education and art programs for Black youth.

After our consultation, Eva graciously chose me as the November recipient (!!!!)
So I started plotting ways to maximize that grace....
Tribe was able to snag a corporate sponsor in MNI Targeted Media of Meredith    Corp, who agreed to match all donations up to $5k!!
