Hiscoll Military Antiques Recovery Fund
Donation protected
In association with Arthur van Hooft, Mark van Thiel, and Willem Duijst, I am requesting you consider making a donation to help our dear friend Mario deCocq (prop: Hiscoll Military Antiques, Den Haag, The Netherlands) recover from a devastating robbery at his home.
While Mario was in America at the Show of Shows from 21 - 24 February, thieves broke into his home in The Netherlands and stole his entire website inventory of over 3,600 items, and hundreds of other examples of unique antique awards and insignia. Much of this material has been used as the gold standard for determining the originality of material available on the collectors' market and his loss is our loss as in most likelihood these pieces will never be recovered.
Mario has been a standard bearer of honor and expertise in the military antique collecting community and his integrity is beyond reproach. He is a friend, mentor, and incredible source of knowledge and resources for all interested in the field of antique military awards and insignia.
The proceeds generated through this GoFundMe effort will help Mario make a smooth transition towards the recovery of his business and personal matters, to include compensating those who had items reserved and partially paid for that have now been stolen, as well as relieving some of the emotional burden he is suffering owing to the trauma of an event like this and damage to his residence.
Thank you for your consideration and please keep Mario in your prayers.
Respectfully.
