Hit and run victim- Yan Li needs help

Donation protected
Dear compassionate souls,

I write to you today on behalf of my friend, Yan Li, a father of a 3-year-old daughter and a family man. He works in the back kitchen of a restaurant 12 hours a day for very little money only to send back most of it to his family in China, leaving himself barely enough to survive. Recently he was hit and run by a black SUV while riding his bike back from work. It left him injured and unable to do basic walking motions without a lot of pain, let alone work.
4 days ago as Yan rode his electric bike through the empty nighttime street of Rowland Heights, tragedy struck. A black SUV hit him, callously leaving him injured and abandoned. The impact obliterated his bike, left him temporarily unconscious, and left him with a world of pain, especially his lower back and downwards when he woke up. The driver ruthlessly drove off without getting him any help.

Thankfully, a good samaritan named Michael stepped in. He called 911, ensuring Yan’s wounds were temporarily tended to. But fear gripped Yan—the ambulance ride and ER medical service came at a cost he couldn’t bear so he profusely refused despite his pain.

2 hours have passed since I was able to get to him, at the time he was in a ton of pain but said he couldn’t afford the medical treatment. As Yan's friend, I had to convince him that his life was more precious than any amount of money. He finally agreed to have me call an ambulance for him, and he was rushed to the hospital. His wounds were stitched and wrapped, but the pain lingered, both physical and emotional.

The accident left Yan with more than physical scars. His once-strong legs now faltered; he could barely rise from his bed. The pain was relentless, gnawing at his spirit. Since he sends most of the money home to his wife and daughter to support them, he is left with little to no money for himself. A hiatus this long will cause any money he has to be depleted in a matter of days. Because he is unable to work and move he won’t have enough money to buy food or pay for rent. He also doesn’t have enough money to continue receiving treatment and rehab therapy either.

Your Compassion Matters:
Medical Expenses: Yan’s injuries demand ongoing care. Your donations will ease the burden of medical bills and rehabilitation costs.
Basic Necessities: Every dollar contributes to food, rent, a bike when he recovers to go to work and anything for his survival.
Hope and Resilience: Yan dreams of standing tall again, of finding employment. Your support fuels that hope.
Let’s rally around Yan, rewrite his story, and prove that compassion knows no borders. Share his plight, donate, and be part of his journey toward recovery.
With gratitude and hope,
Isaak
