hit by a car on sidewalk, please help

Hello, my name is Lea and last year, wearing this neon get-up, I was hit by a car on the sidewalk in broad daylight. I wasn't hit too hard and I made a pretty smooth recovery, but the knee injury landed me in some serious debt. The interest payments are about to cost me my home and I need your help, but first: let me talk about how this even happened.

First: I have no parents, or family besides my grandmother. We are estranged. Already, this means there is no one for me to call on for help.

Second: I can't drive. (And I would love to be able to, but in the province I live in, if you don't have parents, you have to pay approx $1,900 to drive.)

When the car hit me, I wasn't able to walk at all for a short time, and then I wasn't able to walk much distance (or longer than 15 minutes) and this stretch of my recovery lasted months. I live on the steepest hill in the town I live in, so what this meant for me was that I needed to have my groceries delivered, which was a huge expense.

On top of this, I wasn't able to get accommodations at work due to fickle management (that has since changed) so I was expected to be there and would arrive, unfit to work, and get sent home, unpaid. All of my bills and anything relating to my rented apartment had to come off my credit card.

All of this, I thought I could manage because thankfully, I had my credit card... and yes, I'm glad that I had it when I needed it, but now, I'm not so glad about the 20% interest. I'm trying to balance $300 credit card payments with $1300 rent (BEFORE utilities) and I just can't do it. It's so bad, I'm rationing my RICE.

I have tried consolidating the debt but the payments were nearly twice as large, and then despite good credit, I was turned away from a 0% balance transfer promotion due to a lack of history with the new bank. (Though the promotion is through opening a new account? I'm confused about that one, and devastated.) And through being ghosted by Big Insurance, I've exhausted all of my options and I have nothing left.

No matter how hard I work, I never seem to be able to get any further ahead.

Please help me if you can, even paying it down a little bit will help me immensely. I'm still in disbelief that being hit by a car could ruin my life so thoroughly, and hate being at this point where I need to ask for help like this, but it can't continue this way.
