Gina's Goalies

Gina Marie Tanza Drakos is one of my heroes.  Those of us who know and love her are already aware that she is an amazing mother, wife, teacher, advocate and friend.  In October of 2014, Gina was diagnosed with stage 4 uterine sarcoma.  Like everything else in her life, Gina has faced this with determination and resolve.  She has already undergone surgery to have a chemotherapy port implanted in her chest and has begun receiving grueling chemotherapy.  Her treatments consist of three consecutive ten-hour days at the hospital every three weeks.  The effects of chemo have been so drastic that she has been hospitalized many times.  Throughout this treatment phase, Peter must drive Gina to and from treatments while also seeing to the needs of their three young children.  Gina's friends and family have already come forward and offered support and help, but there is a need for financial support in order to offset medical and childcare expenses going forward.  The good news is that Gina's treatment seems to be working!  Her doctors are  now recommending a new chemo regimen and continued treatment.  Please join me in giving generously to ease a small part of the burden currently faced by the Drakos family as they support Gina through her treatment.  Let's shut out sarcoma and help Gina toward her goal of a cure!!
