Help Alphonzia see again

Dear GoFundMe supporters, family and friends. Hi, my name is Alphonzia Lee Jr.. I am 35 years old. I was born and raised in Bladen County North Carolina. I am the proud father of three amazing children. My son is 13 years old, my middle daughter is nine, and my baby girl is 3. In November of 2017 I notice a sudden change in my vision. It was shortly after my baby girl was born. I schedule and I appointment at the local opthamologist at Fayetteville Eye Center. The opthamologist ran some tests which consisted of a visual field test, color vision test, and some 3D images of my retina and optic nerve. After receiving the test results the opthamologist referred me to the kittner eye center at UNC Chapel Hill. The neuro opthamologist at kittner Eye Center diagnosed me with neurosarcoidosis. Which cause my optic nerve to inflamed and me to become totally blind in my left eye and low and blurry vision in my right eye. After being diagnosed I was hospitalized for a week where they administered steroids intravenously to reduce the swelling of my optic nerve. The neurologist at UNC Chapel Hill ordered me to have an MRI of my brain where he noticed that there was significant scarring on my optic nerve. After being released from the hospital I was told by my neuro-opthamologist that there was not anything that could be done to restore my vision only steps they could take was trying to preserve what Vision that I have left.

Along with the life-changing effects of losing my vision I lost one of the most important women in my life, my grandmother. Two years prior to being diagnosed I had just completed one of the greatest accomplishments of my life, which was completing 1528 hours of school to become a Apprentice barber in North Carolina. One year after completing my Apprentice barber's license I received my register barber's license. My vision was the source of my creativity and ability to pursue becoming a barber as a lifelong career. Literally my life changed overnight at the age of 32. Wow dealing with accepting that my vision would never be the same and my career as a barber was over I lost the one person that was my biggest supporter through this, my mother she was my everything my cited guide, my best friend and my primary caregiver.

After countless numbers of doctors appointments with my opthamologist I was told that there was nothing that they were able to do about my vision loss. Researching about optic nerve conditions online I came across the one place that gave me hope on having some form of Clear Vision again. The fedorov restore Vision Clinic in Berlin, Germany is a clinic where they use low current electrotherapy to help people with optic nerve damage regain some of their site. by inquiring about the procedure at the clinic I submitted my eye exams and tests results. After receiving my eye exams and tests results the fedorov restore Vision Clinic contacted me back and said that it may be some chance of restoring my vision to where I can become more independent and live life more free. With over 7,000 patients that they have treated with this therapy 75% of them respond to some form of clear revision then when the therapy begin. This therapy is currently unavailable in the United States.

I am seeking financial assistance to help me travel to the fedorov restore Vision Clinic in Berlin, Germany. The funds raised will be put towards the therapy, travel, and lodging. The therapy consist of 14 days of low electric alternating current to try to increase the electrical signals produced by my optic nerve my goal is to raise $16,000 for the non-invasive treatment that is offered at the clinic and for someone to go with me so I will have assistants.

Due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic I would like to raise These funds by April of 2021.

I feel like I still have a lot to give and create in this world. Gaining back anyvision, Mobility and Independence would be a true blessing to my future.
