My name is Andy, and I am writing on behalf of one of my closest friends, Robert Petrus. Robert and his wife Agnes have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, Maya.
In their free time, they love hiking, relaxing on the beach and hanging out with friends.
Robert is that kind of a friend who would do everything in his power to help his friends in need. When you need him, you can be sure he is there for you!
Unfortunately, now he is very sick and he is the one who needs help. And even in this situation he doesn't want to be a burden and tries to avoid asking any favor. But we, his friends know that this is the time when further steps have to be taken in order to support his health.
Six years ago Robert was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis and he had regular blood tests to monitor his illness. For that reason, in December 2016 Robert had the usual routine blood test.
After getting the results and ordering further tests, his doctor delivered the shocking news: Robert has a life threatening disease called PSC (Primary sclerosing cholangitis ) This is an irreversible liver disease and he would need a liver transplant in the future. The only question is when. In 1 year, 5 or more? Unfortunately, there are so many uncertainties with this disease that it is impossible to tell in advance how many years he has.
Robert's condition is potentially terminal if he doesn't get a liver transplant.
Robert's brother had the same illness but unfortunately, he couldn't beat it and passed away 4 years ago.
3 months ago an extensive medical care started to ensure his disease is under control and won't turn cancerous. He has been having constant check ups, expensive tests, treatments, procedures and never ending doctor visits. Not to mention time away from work. His family is hoping his life can be extended by close medical care and eventually by a liver transplant. Robert's dream is to live long enough to be able to dance with her daughter at her wedding.
This disease puts a tremendous financial burden onto this loving, caring family and they are having a hard time paying Robert's medical bills and now they are truly in trouble. They would love some help. We know that the people who want to give will do it gladly. They would appreciate every little help that would be offered.
