Emergency surgery for Cooper
This is our beautiful Golden Retriever puppy Cooper
Coops is 5 months old and was born on 23rd December 2020 (our little Christmas gift). Sadly, Cooper was born with a heart condition called Sub Aortic Stenosis, he has a severe version of the disease and needs medication every day.
The vets always told us that they didn’t know how long Cooper would have, and to let him live his little puppy life as he wanted to, which we have done, and he has loved every moment. However, on 19th May 2021 our little Coopsy started to struggle, a trip to the emergency vet revealed he had gone into heart failure and had fluid on his lungs, he has responded well to initial treatment but is now in need of a major operation that will insert a balloon into his aorta to help his heart pump blood around his body. Without this operation the vets have been clear that Cooper won’t make it to the end of the year.
Due to Cooper’s condition being congenital, we have been unable to secure insurance for him and are in desperate need of help to fund his life-saving operation. Coopers operation will be performed by the amazing cardiologists at Liverpool Small Animal University Hospital. The operation is a complicated one and does come with it’s risks, but if successful it could give our darling boy the puppy life he should have had.
Cooper is the sweetest, kindest, most loving dog we have ever had the pleasure of owning, and he loves nothing more than giving kisses, a good game of bitey face with his Mum, or cuddling up on the couch at the end of the day. He is a beautiful boy and deserves to have more fun adventures ahead of him, we would be so grateful for any help that anyone can provide us with - even just a share of this page will do more than you could know.
Please help us to save Cooper, and give him a chance at living a long life.
Love always to anyone who can help, from Cooper’s owners - Jean, Lynne, Cian and Quintella, Kristina, Adam and Coopsy’s Mum Rey xxxx
