Kaylee was taken to the hospital in Virginia for a rash. Doctors believed it to be a Viral Infection, and prescribed her Cephalexin. Several days later the rash continued to spread, and she began to get worse. Her eyes started to swell shut and puss up. We took her back to the hospital, and was told she had conjunctivitis, and chicken pox. They sent her home again where she began to get even worse. We went back to the hospital, at this time Kaylee's whole body had blisters. The doctors then stated it was an alergic reaction to the medicin prescribed to her, and they were going to keep her in ICU. Kaylee was then diagnosed with Erythema Multiforme (Stevens-Johnson syndrom). Kaylee was cared for at UVA Medical Facility. With this syndrom, all skin has to peel off, leaving the body exposed untill new skin grows back. UVA was not able to effectively treat Kaylee, and have flown her to Boston's Children Hospital where they are expected to hopefully keep her appendages, and life. The expentency for treatment is 6 months. As we live in Virginia with our precious staying in Boston our lives have to be uprooted to go be with her in her time of need.
