HMB High School Beach Volleyball Team

Hi!

My name is Mike Inglis and I’m the head coach of the Half Moon Bay Beach volleyball team. Girls growing up today have a lot of influences in their lives, not all of them positive. But as a coach, I have found that beach volleyball has been an incredible way to grow girls in their confidence, their character, and their sense of self-worth. And it provides them with a different perspective on what is valuable and good in life. 

The Half Moon Bay High School Beach Volleyball team is really a vehicle for our awesome girls to express themselves and build the story of who they really are. I can’t tell you how incredible it is when a young girls face lights up when she realizes that she can do something that she didn’t think she could do. It brings a whole new sense of worth to themselves! This is why I devote so much of my time to coaching and this is why I’m asking for your help in continuing to transform these athletes from girls into powerful, self-assured young women. 

This team is entirely self-funded with zero support from the high school or school district. And the team wouldn't exist without contributions from people like you!

The funding that we generate is going to be used in the following three areas for the 30+ girls who are part of the team:

- First, we’ll be purchasing uniforms, gear and apparel for all of the kids who participate on the team to allow them to represent the pride they have in their school and in the Half Moon Bay community. 

- Second, we will be hosting four tournaments in Half Moon Bay, and those tournaments will require equipment to be purchased. 

- And Third, in April, the entire team will be traveling to Huntington Beach to compete in an AVP tournament and will give them exposure to some of the best players in the country. The funding will pay for the tournament entry fees and team meals.

I hope that you resonate with the value that the girls receive from their involvement in this sport as a part of the team. It truly is a transformative experience for the girls and will provide memories that will last them a lifetime!
