Funeral Expenses
With very heavy hearts, to announce the passing of Biddeford Communications Center Dispatcher and South Berwick Firefighter Matt Ballou.
Matt died unexpectedly at his home on July 21, 2021, he was 32 years old.
Dispatcher and Firefighter “Matty” Ballou was a hard worker, always willing to pitch in and help no matter what needed to be done. Matt was always smiling, and had a quick, witty sense of humor that could lighten any mood.
Matt especially enjoyed spending time with his wife Tiffany, their children, family and friends. From fishing to golf or involved with football to karate, Matt was always there.
Matt had many nicknames; Matt Ballou, Matty, Matty Boo, Boo Boo Ballou or just plain Boo Boo
Matt joined Lincolnville Fire in 2006, his senior year. He then went to Southern Maine Community College and earned his Firefighter 1 and 2 while being a live in student at Alfred Fire-Rescue. Upon graduation he was back at LFD and he also hired on as a dispatcher for Knox County Communications. In April of 2015 Matt advised he was moving on to the Berwick Maine neighborhood for more dispatching and firefighting.
Matty was hired by Biddeford Communications where he was the voice of calm. He always said “Dispatching, I’m saving the world one barking dog complaint at a time”
In 2017 Matt joined the South Berwick Fire Department to continue his passion in firefighting until his untimely passing
Words cannot express the void that Matt is leaving in this world and in the hearts of many but especially his wife Tiffany, their four children and family.
Please help ease the unexpected burden that has been placed on this family
