Revue For Recovery

Donation protected

UPDATE: Thank you so much to all who have either attended the event or donated through this page !!!

We will be keeping it open until the end of the week, and I will then withdraw the funds to add to the event takings.

This total amount will then be provided to Masonicare who will subsequently issue the two equally divided cheques which will be presented to the two charities at an event attended by representatives of Stagecenta and Masonicare on our collective behalf.

And photos of this event will be posted on this page or via the Stagecenta Facebook page.

Katrina and Lisa and their families lost their homes on December 21 2019.

Lisa and Katrina outside the Nerriga Hotel which sheltered and fed the community for weeks.

The summer of 2019/20 for so many Australians has been marred by the devastation of fire.

And for many of our fellow Australians, this occurred amidst the ongoing impact of a long and torturous drought.

Our land and native animals have been equally decimated.

So because we understand that the road to recovery will also be long, arduous and traumatic , the Musical Theatre and associated business communities and individuals of the Canberra and Queanbeyan region are committed to doing what we can.

To this end, Stagecenta  and Masonicare NSW and ACT will present :

'Revue for Recovery' on Saturday the 7th of March.

100 per cent of the funds raised on this night will go to the Native Animal Rescue Group and the Braidwood Community Help Fund  ( Managed by The Braidwood Life Centre  ).

However for those unable to attend, we have set up this page so that our ability to reach our goals is not limited by geography!

This is where your money will be going:

Braidwood Community Help Fund  -

The community of Nerriga  and the Braidwood  Region at large, need our help.

As one of the Braidwood communities, Nerriga has seen 20 families lose their homes and many more have suffered partial damage, and/or damage to the tools of their trades on which they rely.

They need money for clothes, utilities, communication, transport and dignity.

And as importantly they need to know that we are here for them.

" The kindness of strangers means the world to us when we have nothing"

Katrina.

You can join Lisa, and the generous Nerriga Hotel Publican Phil and Sarah Smith , talking about what happened here

The Braidwood region has suffered many losses which the Braidwood Community Help Fund was set up to attempt to redress.

Native Animal Rescue Group:

Additionally, our wildlife are suffering.  And with over a billion animals lost, the ability to rehabilitate our injured or orphaned wildlife has become even more critical.

Baby Essie is only around 6 months old. She was orphaned and is one of 15 wombats being cared for around the clock by Bill and Les Waterhouse in their home at Majors Creek.

They have lost most of their release areas.

You can join Wombat Bill and Essie explaining this to us here.

We need to support the efforts of people like Bill and Les and other members of NARG who are caring for our animals on our behalf.

So please, give generously so that our fellow Australians in nearby communities know that they have not been forgotten.

And as importantly will have the tangible resources they need to continue rebuilding without unnecessary hardship.

There are so many things which cannot be replaced.

But what we can do, is fill what we can of those painful voids with love, support and care.

Lisa looks over what was once her and her partner Wayne's home.... They are currently still living on the site in donated vans.

This is all that remains of Katrina and Jack's home.

And what kind of an Australia will it be for our children's children, without the wildlife who are part of our identity?

Your money will go toward not only feeding and caring for the animals we have left, but for repairing release sites devastated by fires, and building release enclosures to help return them to where they belong.

All funds raised on this page, will be divided equally between the two charities and added to the funds raised on the night of March the 7th.

And to this end, if you would like to join us for 'Revue to Recovery' please click here now to buy your tickets.

The entertainment is first class and it will be a night to remember.

Thank you so much for your support!

Together we can make such a difference ❤️
