Hoa Tran's Road to Recovery

“He was in a serious car accident.” Our brother, Tony Tran, 26 years young.
These are the words you never want to hear about someone you love. Just a few days ago, he joked about how he might not be available for a virtual birthday call, or you’ve just seen him at your door to deliver a wedding invitation yesterday, or he woke up next to you this morning to get ready to go to work.
But today, these are the words that shocked us to the core – Kim, the love of his life, the Tran Family, and our beloved friends and family.
On July 6, 2020, around 4 AM, Tony was on his way to work. We learned that he was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle and was immediately air-lifted to Memorial Hermann. Due to COVID-19, there are visitor restrictions so the Family is not able to be there in person, and we definitely would have rolled in deep.
Tony experienced multi system trauma to his bones and organs. He is unable to breathe on his own, so there are tubes breathing for him. He remains unconscious and his blood pressure is unstable. He has bleeding from his liver and we are waiting on the results of a CT scan of his brain due to the hard impact on his head. Twice, he did not have a pulse and the excellent medical team brought it back.
His story is inspirational to many. Tony never had anything handed to him. He worked well over fifty hours per week in order to put himself through school. Tony took every opportunity he had, no matter how hard the work was, how long he drove, or what the hours were.
Tony and Kim recently achieved the “American dream” – it was not too long ago that they moved into their beautiful home. Family and friends are so important to Tony. It wasn’t enough for him to be successful. He was on a journey and he wanted everyone to also excel at life.
This accident has critically injured Tony and left us with many questions without answers.
His employer’s insurance will cover many but not all medical expenses, treatment, lost wages, or rehabilitation, and it certainly won’t cover their living expenses.
Many of you have asked what you can do for us. We appreciate prayers, support, love, being our shoulders to cry on, and many other things in this journey. If you are able to help financially, we are asking our friends and family to give what you can to support Kim and Tony and to keep their dream alive while he is on his way to healing.
We love each and every one of you and are grateful for your continuing support. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.
