Please share Layla's plea! ♥
Layla is not ready for adoption yet. Layla was brought into the Animal Emergency Center in Memphis on September 4th, 2016 by a good Samaritan that said she had been hit by a car. The AEC did radiographs and found a luxated carpus, but no fractures. They put a cast on her and the swelling was going down. We were hoping that she would not need surgery per their veterinarian, but he did advise us to have a second opinion when the cast was ready to be taken off in 2 weeks. We picked her up on September 8th, 2016 and she went to her new foster home with Stephanie & Luke. We sent the radiographs to Dr. Ledbury at Hillcrest Animal Hospital and brought Layla in for an examination on September 26th, 2016 and he immediately said that Layla needed surgery to put pins in her leg to repair the injury. Leila had surgery on September 28th and everything went great. Dr. Ledbury thinks she will have a full recovery and we are keeping our paws crossed! The surgery was $1058.00 and we desperately need help with this bill. Layla's pin adjustment, pin removal and spay has cost the rescue an additional $391.00 which has brought the total to $1449.00. We have set up a PoundsWishes fundraiser, you can also paypal directly to the rescue at [email redacted] OR you can mail a check to Hogan’s Husky Heroes Rescue, 1519 Union Avenue, Suite 186, Memphis, TN 38104. If you are sending paypal donation or mailing check please write that the donation is for Leila. Thank you for everyone’s help and support we greatly appreciate it! UPDATE LAYLA: We have had her pins adjusted and she will have to go back in 6 more weeks to have the pins removed and since they have to put Leila under anesthesia for this procedure we are having her spayed at the same time.
UPDATE LAYLA: Layla's pins have not been removed, Dr. Ledbury wanted to wait another week to 10 days. Sorry for the miscommunication. We will update as soon as they have been removed and what his prognosis is.
