Repair the roof of SF Japantown non-profit
Tax deductible
Hokka Nichi Bei Kai, also known as JAANC (Japanese American Association of Northern California), is the oldest Japanese American non-profit organization. Established in 1895 to better relations between America and Japan, Hokka Nichi Bei Kai supports various disciplines of Japanese culture by providing facilities to meet and share traditional culture. From sponsorship of Japanese language contests to housing a traditional tea ceremony room ("chashitsu") with demonstrations for local school children, Hokka Nichi Bei Kai aims to foster a more harmonious Japanese American community in San Francisco and the broader society.
We are fundraising to support the repairs and restorations of Hokka Nichi Bei Kai's building in San Francisco's Japantown. Built over 40 years ago, Hokka Nichi Bei Kai members recently discovered a leak in the building's roof that threatens the building's architectural integrity and needs to be repaired. Current quotes anticipate the repairs to cost $25,000 - $30,000. They are reaching out to local community members for support and would be grateful for your consideration and donation. Donating to this fundraiser will directly support the preservation of this important cultural artifact and ensure its continuity for future generations.
