Since HCA purchased Mission Health System in 2019, the people of Western North Carolina have seen the quality of care and patient safety suffer in dramatic ways. HCA’s systematic playbook-driven cuts to staffing, services and resources, coupled with its rigid corporate culture have undermined public trust and confidence in Mission Health, has diminished what was once best-in-class medical care across WNC, and has created a challenging work environment for medical and support staff. HCA’s approach of profits over patients has no place in western North Carolina.

RECLAIM HEALTHCARE WNC is committed to demonstrating our unwavering support for healthcare workers and to holding HCA accountable through community empowerment.

While RECLAIM HEALTHCARE WNC members have many skills and talents, this is a major, long-term effort. We are raising funds to support our ongoing work and to accomplish our goal of replacing HCA with a non-profit owner committed to meeting the healthcare needs of the people of WNC.
