Holiday Bags for Homeless

Hello Everyone! With the holidays nearing closer and closer, there are plenty of great programs for young ones like the Angel Tree and Toys for Tots, however sometimes adults can get overlooked. That's why my sister, Jessi and I are going to make Holiday Gift Bags to hand out to the homeless around our hometown, Oviedo and the downtown Orlando area.
Everyone needs love, but especially around this time of year! We have voulenteered on Thanksgiving day in the past and the Salvation Army had handed out stuffed animals and hygiene bags and it was absolutely loved! Many of the adults absolutely loved the stuffed animals.
However, we're both students and although we do plan on purchasing items for the bags ourselves, we also are asking if anyone would like to donate to our cause! The more the merrier!
Items we plan to purchase with donations will include: food items like chips, candy, jerky, crackers and other easily consumable, non perishable goods. Hygiene items like deodorant, soap, wipes, or even pads/tampons for women. Things like vitamins, or Ibuprofen. Stuffed animals. Blankets, pillows, shirts, jackets or socks. Gift cards to places to get food like McDonald's or subway. Water bottles. Etc!
We understand not everyone has the time in the day to do the extra shopping or rumage their closets for gently used items to donate, and that people may want to help that aren't in our area. That is the purpose behind our GoFundMe. If you want to help from home please consider donating.
We will passing these items out on Saturday December 17th. Since GoFundMe requires 5-7 days to process donations we ask that all donations be in by Saturday December 10th. Once again thank you so much! Any amount helps!
