Holiday Books for Low-Income Students
Tax deductible
How can I help?
Make a donation to The Foundation Schools Holiday Book Fair Drive - ends on December 5, 2022.
How will my donation be used?
Your donation will provide the gift of free, brand-new, and current books to our students at The Foundation Schools Holiday Book Fair, hosted December 12 - 16, 2022.
Who will my donation benefit?
Students with emotional disabilities in grades K-8 at The Foundation School in Largo, MD and The Foundation School of Montgomery County in Gaithersburg, MD, and students with autism at The Foundation Learning Center in Landover, MD.
Why should I donate to the Holiday Book Fair Drive?
The Foundation Schools is a K-12 nonprofit school that provides a specialized learning environment for children with emotional disabilities, autism, and social, emotional, and learning challenges. 80 percent of our students live in low-income houses, and many come from disadvantaged families, so their parents do not have the financial resources to pay for books or support PTA-type fundraising. Therefore, the funding of the Holiday Book Fair depends on your efforts.
What kind of books will my donation fund?
The books provide recreational reading as a supplement to instruction. The more fun our students have reading, the more likely they are to improve their reading skills. Student favorite books include Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Man, Plants vs. Zombies, Pokemon and Lego characters, cars, technology, and superheroes.
Thank you very much for your contribution!
