Holiday Gifts for Milwaukee Families

Through my work at Hope House I'm able to help clients facing homelessness find safe housing and assist them with rent and utilities for up to one year! All of my clients have children and most of the families I work with live in extreme poverty. My hope is that all their children will be able to open at least one holiday gift so that's why I'm getting started early this year! When this fundraiser is completed I will present the money to the directors and administration of Hope House so they can help me get clients gifts without bias.

 

In my opinion having safe, affordable housing is not a privilege, but a human right. Without access to housing, healthcare, food, water and education it is impossible to break the cycle of poverty. 

Remember going back to school after the holidays and talking with your friends and classmates about what they got as gifts? I don't want any kids to be left out of that conversation! I don't want any kids to think they're "bad" and that's why Santa didn't come. I don't want parents to be forced into having the harsh conversation about what it means to live in poverty with their children who should be focused on simply being kids and going to school, especially during what should be a joyous season.

Throw a little cheer into the lives of the children I work with by donating a couple dollars. Even something simple like colored pencils or crayons will mean the world to them. Donations can also be made directly through the Hope House website at www.hopehousemke.org
