Holiday kidney donation

Hello everyone! Some of you are new to our story so I will try to summarize as quickly as I can. 2 years ago Gideon woke up to a swollen leg and made an appointment to see his dr. He was immediately referred to a nephrologist whom we met the next day. She informed us he was in renal failure and needed to urgently start dialysis. Long story short we almost lost him but he has battled nonstop since then to get to transplant. Setback after setback and many many tears along the way we have just kept pushing through. We finally thought we were good to go this year and have really been trying to get Gideon to the transplant finish line. Throughout this journey we discovered I am not a match for Gideon, however we were told we could enter the national kidney registry as a paired donation. Meaning if I was willing to donate they would find Gideon a kidney and we would be part of a transplant chain so to speak. This was our intention however due to Gideon's health he has been put on pause and it has been decided that the best thing to do is for me to go ahead and do an advanced donation. This means I will donate a kidney to hopefully move Gideon up the list if and when he gets healthy enough for a transplant. I got a call informing me that I will be donating my kidney on the 29th of November! While the timing is somewhat difficult for our family this is the most awesome holiday for another family! Many people have reached out asking how they can help. I will be off of work until January so any help is greatly appreciated.
