Holiday Presents for Children in Kinship Care

This holiday season, we are partnering with Idaho's Relatives as Parent's (IRAP) support group to provide gifts for 83 children in kinship care. We'll be focusing on those families who specifically asked for clothing items as that is our main focus and specialty.
What is kinship care? Kinship is when a child is placed with family or close friends when removed from their home. Sometimes kinship families go through the state foster system but often they are unofficial placements that leave the families with even fewer resources available to them than those who do go through the foster system.
Last year, we partnered with IRAP and sponsored 22 children's clothing holiday wishes. This year, that number has almost quadrupled. We desperately need your help to make sure all our community's kids get to experience the magic of being loved for and cared by their community.
There are many ways to get involved. First, you can donate right here! These funds will go toward wrapping materials, buying presents, and especially buying presents for children who come into care right before the holidays. These children often come with very few belongings. This season of cheer is further complicated by such a difficult event as removal from their home, accompanied by a lot of uncertainty. Your donations will help bring a little bit of brightness into their winter season. You can also sponsor a specific child's holiday directly by signing up below and going shopping for their wish list!
If you cannot donate, no worries. We will be having a volunteer day to pack and wrap everyone's presents. Also, a very important way to help is to share this! By sharing, you can help raise not only donations but also awareness for children in kinship and foster care here in Idaho.
