Holland House rebuilding

Hello everyone, my name is Carol Holland, and I write this to you with sadness, but with knowledge that our God and great and greatly to be praised and that he is Jehovah Jireh- our provider.
For those of you that do not know of my family’s most recent series of events, on October 8, 2016, mine and my family’s home of 17 years, located in Suffolk, VA, was completely destroyed by major flooding, brought about by Hurricane Matthew. The outcome of this flooding was disastrous filling my house up with approximately 2 feet of water give or take, and destroying almost all of our possessions (furniture, mattresses, appliances, flooring etc.) Knowing this, one can only imagine the heartbreak and the exhaustion that my family has experienced over the past couple of days having to throw away the very things we all worked so hard for, and the memories that the house had attached to it. Sadly, only a few of our possessions were deemed salvable while everything else was thrown into the dumpster. Unfortunately, my family and I were totally unprepared for the flooding that occurred, seeing as every forecast showed that Matthew was going to hit North Carolina and go back out into the Atlantic, but as we all know mother nature will do as she pleases no matter what the circumstance. After all of this happened we immediately contacted our insurance company only to find out that we have absolutely no flood insurance, and that homeowners insurance was not going to repair any of the damage.

Now knowing all of this, I ask you, firstly that you pray for my family in that we can be comforted in this time of sorrow, for losing everything, and that the Lord will bless us with comfort. Secondly, if you can help contribute to our fund in any way, whether it is one penny, or $1000 it would be appreciated more than you will ever know. Any of you that know my family know that we are honest, hardworking, God fearing, blue collar, middle class folks, that live pay check to pay check just like most other people, but for the cost of replacing needed possessions, food, temporary housing, and all the other facets that come with rebuilding a house, my family will be left with next to nothing because of the lack of insurance. This is where you will help, your generous donations will provide both the essentials my family will need and the supplies to rebuid our home. We have sure faith that the Lord is going to provide for us, I personally am around 200 miles away from home in Lynchburg, VA in my senior year of college at Liberty University. Therefore, I am not able to do nearly as much as I’d like to, to help my family.
